The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is a subsidiary of the Department of Transportation (DOT) which mandates regular medical examinations of commercial vehicle operators. DOT physicals are required to be completed by National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) healthcare providers that understand the physical and mental demands of commercial drivers. NRCME examiners are required to successfully complete formal training approved by the FMCSA and pass a certification exam. All CompCare providers are NRCME certified.
